The Journey Begins
Portrait Of Maximillan: This is when and where I got started.
In 1988, late October I picked up a piece of acid free lenox one hundred paper twenty-two inches by thirty inches. I headed back to woodfords corner, Portland, Maine where I shared an apartment with my brother.I had no drafting table at the time. I used the wall of my bedroom apartment on the third foor. I was excited to draw again, because the last time I did a drawing was at Bridgton Junior High in Bridgton, Maine. This original took me over the winter and into the spring of 1989. I finished this in May 1989. This original took me one hundred twenty to one hundred forty hours to complete. This original has been shown and was inspired by many relatives and friends.
Book Of Ships: The first actual drawing of my own.
In May 1989, I moved out of the apartment at woodfords corner in Portland, Maine. I came back to Bridgton to live at my folks house on the hill, while my folks were living at the cottage on Salmon Point on Long Lake, Maine. My folks lived at this cottage for many summers and still do. As I was living at the top of the hill,I started another original. In June 1989, I started this original on a wall again in a bedroom where I slept when I was a kid. During this time, I slept downstairs in my brothers old bedroom. Yet, I had been doing this original over the summer months into the fall. In November 1989, I completed this original. During the time of creation, my father would go up to the house during the evenings while I was at work and look at the progress I was doing. My father was very intrigued on the outcome of the original and said you may have something in this, Robbie. Both my parents had praised on this and mentioned to possibly persue this. I was lifted but I had a long way to go. My spirits were up and I decided to keep going, to persue it.This original took me one hundred twenty to one hundred forty hours to complete. This original was very much inspired by many friends and relatives.
In November 1989, I began to use a little drafting board that was stored away in my brothers closet, I had gotten permission.I used this board to draw my next original. I stayed with ships til the next drawing. Again this drawing was done on acid free lenox 100 paper and used a mechanical pencil to draw and complete. My father always loved to see the progress I was making. He would look at the progress i was doing during the evening hours while I was at work. My father would mention good things we meet. Because My father would be working during the day and I was working at night, we would get a chance to see each other til the weekend to conversate in person. I did this one over the winter months downstairs in my brothers old bedroom cellar. In Febuary 1990, the original was completed. This original took about one hundred thirty to one hundred forty hours on completion. Again, This original was inspired many friends and relatives.
In March 1990, I started to use my creation and mind even more. I wanted to design an original that has something to do with castles. This was the first original I did on a drafting table, boy was I excited, no more standing up to a wall of a bedroom and draw. I was excited! So, from here on out I did my designs on a drafting table. So, I came up with this miraculous design. I designed this original as if I was standing in one place taking a photo and an earthquake effect was happening. I took three different pictures of three earthquake effects and put them together to form one illustration and called it Triple Fall. I really liked the outcome of this original. How I set the stages in each event that happen. This original took me one hundred thirty to one hundred forty hours to complete. I completed this in July 1990.Again, this original was inspired by many friends, collegues, and relatives.
